Here in Croydon is a group of men who enjoy dancing the Morris which is a part of the traditional and ancient dances collected by Cecil Sharp in the southern counties of England a hundred years ago. We welcome you to join and become a part of this tradition and keep it alive for future generations.
We practise from 8.30pm on Thursday evenings
in the Scout Hut in Purley Park Road, Purley.
You are very welcome to come for a dance and a drink afterwards around 10.15pm at the Wetherspoons, in 8-9 Russell Hill Parade in Purley.
We have enjoyed a good trip to Calais and Boulange with Neil and Brian Tusker and dancers from Old Palace and Greeenwich during the first weekend of September. Bob took another of his famous videos which will be posted shortly.
We are next performing on Boxing Day at the Harrow Inn from about 12 noon. Unfortunately Stephen the squire is spending his birthday with Morris teams in New Zealand so will be more than usually absent this year.
Look for details in our programme for August to December.
